Hemdip was enrolled with KSEDA in June 2022, but was irregular in attending classes. It took some time for her mother Mouli to understand the impact of maintaining a daily routine. Mouli joined the Regional Network meeting of Prayaas in November and met many parents having a child with deafblindness. Her confusion regarding early intervention got cleared. From November Hemdip was regular in attending classes at KSEDA centre. He cried, had different defence mechanism to avoid the learning sessions. This behaviour gradually changed with 15 minutes participation in any work. Started understanding the teacher's touch and cooperated. Teacher was assigned with home visits. In 5 months, remarkable changes are visible in Hemdip's behaviour. He leads the teacher to classroom by holding her hand. Only Early intervention strategies can bring such change.

Hemdip is deafblind due to Congenital Rubella Syndrome.
